Bolo India App
Google Play Store has removed indigenous social media app Bolo India from Playstore on the complaint of copyright infringement of music company T-Series. Super Cassettes Industries Pvt Ltd, a company operating under the T-Series brand, about a year ago had paid about Rs 3.5 crore to social media and video sharing platform companies Bolo India for damages caused by using its copyrighted materials. Notice of demand was given.
Most of the companies have tied up with T-Series in terms of copyright rights while Bolo India has not entered into any agreement with the music company yet.
Bole India has done such a deed in the past as well.
T-Series President Neeraj Kalyan said, “Bolo India has done this many times before. We sent them several legal notices, but they continued to infringe copyright. That’s why we asked Google to remove the Bolo India app from the App Store under appropriate laws.
“We take copyright violations very seriously. Will not shy away from taking strict legal action against Bolo India or any platform that violates our copyrights.
Bolo India will talk to T-Series and Google
A Bolo India spokesperson said that the company is temporarily unavailable on the Google Play Store due to some conflicts with T-Series. He said, “We will always work in coordination with the ecosystem and complying with all laws. We are in talks with T-Series and Google to resolve this issue at the earliest and the platform will be back on Playstore soon.”
Let us tell you that there are a total of 7 million i.e. 70 lakh consumers in the country of India. However, Google did not comment on this matter.
