FOXBORO — Patriots quarterback Mac Jones met with reporters for the ultimate 90 seconds of media locker-room entry Friday, his first look since struggling the excessive ankle sprain that has sidelined him for 3 straight video games.
Jones didn’t say whether or not he’ll begin Monday evening in opposition to the Bears. According to a number of stories, Jones expects to be accessible.
“I think I’m doing well. Just trying to get better and get my treatment. Day by day,” Jones mentioned with fun. “It does feel pretty good. I’m going to get my treatment right now and be ready to go.”
Below is an entire transcript of Jones’ Q&A with reporters.
Q: Will you be again (Monday evening)?
Jones: “Yeah, I think I’m doing well. Just trying to get better and get my treatment day by day (laughs). It does feel pretty good, and I’m just going to get my treatment right now, and be ready to go.”
Q: Do you suppose you may be prepared Monday?
“Jones: Yeah, like I said, I’m going to try to do my best to put the hours in to get ready. I’m definitely moving better. I feel pretty good.”
Q: How has it been for you mentally, coping with your first main harm?
“It’s been good. I think you can watch and learn as much as you can and try and get healthy. I’ve done a good job trying to help the team as best I can, and film, and during the game to watch, it was really good. Obviously, I want to be out there to help the team win. And that’s what I’m going to do.”
Q: Bailey Zappe mentioned that you simply’ve been supporting him. Why has that been essential to you?
Jones: “Yah, I’ve been in these type of situations before. Whether that’s in college or not, if you’re in, you’re in, and you want to have everyone helping you. So, he’s done a good job stepping up, and being a young guy. I’ve always had really good mentors, and things like that, so that’s my plan.”
Q: Physically, do you suppose the ankle is able to go?
Jones: “Yeah, I think it feels pretty good. Just trying to work through all the stuff, being able to play in an NFL football game. I want to be able to go out there and help the team. Once I’m there, I’m there. So, I’m definitely making progress. We’ve done a good job with the treatment.”
