After the riots on January 6, two policemen were trampled by a vehicle here on Friday, in which one was killed. The US Capitol building has since been locked down. It is being told that the police has shot the suspect. A policeman is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The police closed the US Capitol on Friday afternoon (local time) after receiving information about the firing in the area. The US Capitol Police say that all Capitol buildings have been closed ‘due to external security threats’ and employees have been informed that they cannot ‘enter’ or ‘exit’ the buildings.

Car driver suspected of knife
Capitol police said that one person hit two police officers with a vehicle and in this case a suspect was detained. He said that an officer has been seriously injured in this incident. Officials said that it appeared that the driver of the car had a knife, after which the police opened fire.
