IPL 2022 is starting from 26 March. And, just 3 days before this, the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has replaced Australia’s fast bowler Andrew Tye in place of England’s fast bowler Mark Wood. Mark Wood has been ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury. Significantly, Andrew Toy played a big role in making Perth Scorchers champion in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22. He took 3 wickets for 15 runs against Sydney Sixers in the BBL Final.

Andrew Toy remained at number three in the list of highest wicket-takers in BBL 2021-22. He took 25 wickets at an average of 16.96 in the total of 16 matches played in this scene. He also took 5 wickets in one encounter. Remind you that Andrew Toy was the Purple Cap winner in IPL 2018. He played for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP PBKS) in that season, taking 24 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 18.66 and an economy of 8.00. In that season, Afghanistan’s constituent all-rounder Rashid Khan was the second most successful bowler.

It is worth noting that, while Andrew Tye is the top wicket-taker of IPL 2018, LSG also has the number-2 wicket-taker of IPL 2021 in the team. Aawesh Khan is in the team of LSG. Avesh Khan took 24 wickets in 16 matches played in IPL 2021 at an average of 18.75 and an economy rate of 7.37.
Not only this, the team of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also has extra lethal fast bowlers in the form of Dushmantha Chameera and Ankit Rajput of Sri Lanka. Jason Holder, Marcus Stoinis and Kyle Mayers are also good all-rounders in the team.
It was earlier believed that Mark Wood would join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after the recent tour of England to the West Indies (ENG vs WI Bilateral Series, 2022). But, after the first match of the Test series played against the West Indies, Mark Wood suffered an elbow injury and is currently in rehab. LSG will start with the match against Gujarat Titans GT at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 28 in the season of IPL 2022.
