Birmingham: World Championships bronze medalist Lakshya Sen entered the men’s singles semi-finals of the All England Championships here on Friday.
Notably, Lakshya Sen was scheduled to face China’s Lu Guang Xu in the men’s quarterfinal match. But due to injury, the Chinese shuttler could not take to the court for the match. In such a situation, Lakshya got a walkover and he easily managed to enter the last-4.

Almora’s Lakshya Sen, who claimed his maiden Super 500 title at the India Open in January and then claimed runner-up at last week’s German Open, will face the winner of the match between sixth seed Lee Zi of Malaysia. Jia and second seed Kento Momota of Japan advanced to the last four rounds.
The fifth-seeded Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, however, failed to beat the quarter-finals hurdle to Indonesia’s top seeds Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjay Sukamuljo 22-24 17-21 in 47 minutes.
Sen had on Thursday defeated world number three and two-time medalist Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-16, 21-18 to reach the quarter-finals at the World Championships.
The Indian had defeated world number one and Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in his maiden Super 300 final last week.
