England cricket team’s fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury. Lucknow Super Giants LSG is looking for his alternative. Meanwhile, it is learned that the Lucknow Super Giants have signed a contract with Zimbabwe’s fast bowler Blessing Mujarbani. It is worth noting that after 8 years a Zimbabwean player is joining the IPL. There is also a recent news that LSG may sign a contract with Australia’s constituent fast bowler Andrew Tye.
Brendan Taylor appeared for Zimbabwe in the IPL 8 years before Blessing Muzarabani Zimbabwe. He was in the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH released Brendan Taylor before IPL 2015. Apart from Brendan Taylor, Ray Price of Zimbabwe has played for Mumbai Indians and Tetenda Taibu has played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The Ambassador of India to Zimbabwe called on Mujarbani and extended his best wishes. The Ambassador also extended his best wishes to LSG. It is clear from this that Blessing Mujarbani will be in the team of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022. However, it is not yet clear whether Mark Wood has taken him in the team as a substitute for Mark Wood, or as a net bowler. As of now, there is no official statement from LSG.
Zimbabwe’s fast bowler Blessing Mujarbani is well known for his sharp bowling. He has made a special identity in international cricket in a very short time. He has the skill of bowling at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
The history of international cricket tells that, Blessing Mujarbani has played a total of 6 Test matches, 30 One Day Internationals and 21 T20 Internationals so far. He has taken 19 wickets in Tests, 39 in ODIs and 25 wickets in T20Is. It is worth noting that in total 40 T20 matches played so far, he has taken 44 wickets at an average of 25.97 and economy of 7.91.
To remind you that, Mujarbani made his debut in International Test cricket in December 2017, One Day International in January 2018 and T20 International in February 2018. It is worth mentioning that he has also played in PSL. Blessing Mujarbani has taken 5 wickets in 4 matches played in Pakistan Super League at an economy rate of less than 8.
