Water tax recovery campaign started
It is to be known that the lockdown implemented as soon as the financial year of the year 2020-21 began, that is, in the month of April, had a huge impact on the various incomes of the Thane Municipal Corporation along with the common people. Due to the lockdown implemented from the month of March, all types of transactions were completely stopped. Two months after the lockdown was imposed, the property tax department of the Municipal Corporation started tax collection. But the water recovery could not start. However, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Sharma, the water tax recovery campaign was also started from the last days of July of the year 2020.
Despite the Corona epidemic, in the year 2020-21, the Municipal Water Supply Department had recovered Rs 154 crore, Rs 5 lakh 41 thousand 633 from April 1 to March 28. Whereas last year only on March 28, 53 lakh 65 thousand 380 was recovered. But this time about Rs 40 crore, 11 lakh 13 thousand 551 less has been recovered as compared to last year.
44 crore 20 lakh 69 thousand 838 recovered from customers with smart metering system
At the same time, this year the Municipal Administration has collected Rs 113 crore 93 lakh 98 thousand, Rs 82 as water tax. In which Rs 62 crore 29 lakh 49 thousand 819 from customers without meter in the city and Rs 44 crore 20 lakh 69 thousand 838 from customers with smart metering system, thus totaling Rs 106 crore 50 lakh 19 thousand 657. Whereas about 7 crore 43 lakh 78 thousand 425 rupees have been recovered from Municipal Corporation’s CFC and other items in the form of water tax.
Municipal Corporation recovered one crore 49 lakh 90 thousand rupees on holiday
March is the month of closing. Also, taking serious note of less recovery by the Water Supply Department this year than last year, the Municipal Commissioner directed to open all the offices for collection of water tax on holidays i.e. Saturday, 26 March and Sunday 27 March also. Was. In such a situation, while the officers and employees of Municipal Water Supply Department were seen making recovery even on holidays, the customers also gave good response. The Municipal Water Supply Department had recovered Rs 85 lakh 49 thousand on March 26 and Rs 49 lakh 50 thousand on March 27. Thus, even during the holidays on both the days, the Municipal Water Supply Department was successful in recovering about one crore 49 lakh 90 thousand rupees.
