Prelaunch bookings of Kia Sonet have started today. This sub compact SUV of Kia Motors can be booked at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Customers can book the sonnet from the company’s dealerships across India or from its official website. This car is planned to be launched in September.
Kia Sonet will be produced only in the company’s factory in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh in India and from here it will be exported to other countries. Kiya Sonnet will go to more than 70 markets outside India, including the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia markets.
Kia Sonet Engine specifications
The Kia Sonet will be available in dual trim concepts, tech line and GT line. There will be both petrol and diesel engine options. Kia Sonet will get two petrol engine options 1.2 liter and 1.0 liter turbo GDI. The diesel engine option will be a 1.5-liter turbo. Transmission options will be 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and 7 speed DCT. Along with this, 6 speed IMT transmission technology will also be available. Intelligent manual transmission (IMT) provides clutchless gear shifting with the control of the manual shift lever. A 6-speed automatic transmission will be available with the diesel engine, which is a first in class feature. The Kia Sonet will be the second car in India to get an IMT transmission option. Hyundai has recently made this transmission option available in its Venue.

Sonnet will have a first in segment 10.25 inch HD touchscreen hitech infotainment system. Apart from this, there will be features like Bose 7 speaker system, electric sunroof, front ventilated seats, front parking sensors, smart pure air purifier with virus protection, auto headlamps etc. Kiya Sonnet will be equipped with 55 connected features. Its connected features can be accessed with the help of smartphones and smartwatches. For this, UVO connected technology will be available in the car.
