Bhopal. BJP leader and former Union Minister Uma Bharti, who is campaigning for drug de-addiction and prohibition in Madhya Pradesh, entered a liquor shop in Azad Nagar, Bhopal on Sunday and threw stones with full force and broke some liquor bottles kept in the rack there. As Bharti threw stones, her supporters and the local people around her raised slogans praising their leader.
Bharti, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, had announced last year that she would campaign in the state to ban alcohol. Bharti has also posted a video of stone pelting at a liquor shop on her Twitter handle, in which it is seen that she goes to this shop with some people with a stone.
After this, she throws this stone with full force on the wine bottles lying in the rack, which breaks some of the wine bottles kept there. After that she comes out from there and leaves.
Bharti uploaded the video on her Twitter handle and wrote that there is a chain of liquor shops in the labor colony in Barkheda Pathani, Azad Nagar, BHEL Bhopal, which serve liquor to the people in a big courtyard.

He further wrote, “This is the settlement of laborers. There are temples nearby. There are schools for small children. When girls and women stand on rooftops, they are put to shame because of people who are drunk.” He said that today he has warned the administration to close the shop and the courtyard within a week. Reacting to this, Madhya Pradesh Congress media coordinator Narendra Saluja tweeted that former Chief Minister of the state Uma Bharti, who was missing after giving three-three dates to start the prohibition campaign in Madhya Pradesh, is now throwing stones at the liquor shop herself.

He asked that now will Uma Bharti lift the stone and get liquor banned? He said that if a former Chief Minister has to do all this in his government, then it is understandable. Saluja tweeted, “Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra ji, I am also against liquor in Madhya Pradesh. I want to protest the way the former Chief Minister of the state Uma Bharti ji has opposed the liquor shop today. Please allow.”
Saluja said that Bharti has given a message to the people of the state by throwing stones at the liquor shop that the state has become a drunken state under the BJP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that people are getting ruined due to open liquor shops everywhere, liquor shops have doubled in the state. (agency)
