Lucknow : On Tuesday afternoon on the densely populated industrial city of Kanpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the gift of world-class facilities in the form of Metro, then the people of Kanpur. Our government laid the foundation stone of Purvanchal Expressway, our own government completed its work. He said that before the year 2014, the total length of the metro used in UP was 9 kms.
Government is working on the mantra of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas: PM Modi
Between 2014 and 2017, the length of the metro increased to a total of 18 km. If you include Kanpur Metro today, the length of the metro in UP has now exceeded 90 kms. At a time, 974 passengers will be able to travel in the metro train at a speed of 80 to 90 km/h. Kanpur Metro will run on automatic operation based control system.

In Kanpur Metro train, 45 percent energy will be regenerated and reused through regenerative braking system. There will also be carbon dioxide sensor based air conditioning system, automatic operation and energy saving.

Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to operate metro rail in maximum number of cities. Prime Minister Modi started the operation of metro rail in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and now also in Kanpur. It is worth mentioning that the work of metro project in Agra is in progress and the work of DPR of metro project in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut is also going on war footing.
