The Supreme Court agreed to hear on Thursday a petition filed in connection with the alleged security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab. This petition has been filed by an organization named Lawyers Voice. Accepting the petition, the Supreme Court said that it will hear the matter on Friday. Chief Justice NV Ramana has asked the petitioners to give a copy of the petition to the Center and the Punjab government today (Thursday).

This party is in a frenzy with the people repeatedly rejecting the Congress. The top Congress leaders should apologize to the people of the country for what they did in Punjab today.” Was?
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi expressed regret over the entire development. However, he vehemently denied all the allegations being leveled by the BJP regarding the security lapse. In a press conference, Channi said that his government had no information about the PM’s convoy going by road.
The Punjab government on Thursday constituted a high-level committee to inquire into the security lapses during PM Modi’s visit. A Punjab government spokesperson said the committee would include retired Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and Chief Secretary, Home and Justice, Anurag Verma. The government said the panel has been asked to submit its report within three days.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (Revolutionary) has taken the responsibility of blocking PM Modi’s convoy on the highway. It is one of the 32 organizations that were involved in nearly a year-long protests along the Delhi border over three agricultural laws.
