Nagpur. A doctor, fed up with the harassment of his in-laws committed suicide by injecting himself under Ganeshpeth police station at 5 am on Friday. The deceased was told as Dr. Abhijit Ratnakar Dhamankar (38), resident of Raut Chowk, Tandapeth. Police also found a suicide note written by Abhijeet. In this, the doctor has blamed the maternal uncle and other relatives of the in-laws’ side for his death because they did not allow him to meet his wife and child.
According to the information, Abhijit was appointed as a doctor in Kimaya Multi Specialist Hospital. He has parents at home but he lived in Tandapeth with his wife. His in-laws, through his wife, had filed a case against him under the Atrocity Act, including domestic violence. Since then his wife lived in her maternal home. Abhijeet also has a son but in his suicide letter he has written that he remains under a lot of stress due to the cases against him.
Injection was done in the hospital itself
Despite the tension, Abhijeet was doing duty. He was doing duty at around 12.30 pm. During this, he injected himself with the name Atracurium Besylate. After that he fainted. He appeared in a dead state to his colleague Dr. Shreyas Dhawale at around 5 in the morning. Police was informed immediately. The police reached the spot and got a letter from Abhijeet. In this Abhijeet had written that ‘the cause of my death is Seema Gaikwad, Vinay Gaikwad and Lokhande family (Rahul Lokhande and Tambe Bai) of Gaikwad family. These people tortured me mentally.
I’m so stressed. Due to this, I am committing suicide. These people should be punished severely for the trouble caused to me. Atrocity Act has been imposed on me. For the last 4 months, I am not being allowed to meet my wife and children. Police seized injection bottles, empty syringes and other things from the spot. At present, a case of accidental death has been registered. The investigation continues.
