A Gizmochina report says that Volvo is working on a special technology that will convert the windshields of two cars into AR displays. The company has partnered with Spectralics to develop it. Spectralics is developing a multi-layered thin combiner (MLTC) film that can be applied to a car’s windshield.
This will convert the entire windshield into a HUD and the driver will be able to see all the necessary information in the windshield. This allows the driver not to look away from the windshield for information on the car’s speed, mileage, maps, navigation, collision alerts or notifications.
It has been told in the report that for this Volvo says that due to the large view, the information offered by HUD will be easily visible to the driver and his focus will not be disturbed.
The same report states that Huawei is already working on this technology. The company has also announced AR HUD technology, which will convert the car windshield into a smart screen.<!–
