New Delhi/Indore: The father of Omkareshwar Thakur, an accused in the Sulli Deal case, claimed that his son was being implicated in the case. He said that based on the statement of only one person, my IT specialist son has been arrested and taken to Delhi. Let us inform that, Delhi Police has arrested Omkareshwar Thakur from Indore, Madhya Pradesh for making ‘Sully Deals’ app. He is accused of being the mastermind of this case.
After the arrest of Omkareshwar Thakur, his father Akhilesh Thakur while talking to the media in Indore said, “I have come to know that on the basis of the statement of only one person, my IT specialist son has been arrested and taken to Delhi. Along with this, his mobile and laptop have also been taken. My son is being framed and maligned.”

It is noteworthy that the police has made the first arrest in the ‘Sully Deals’ app case. Let us tell you that through this app, photographs of hundreds of Muslim women were put up for ‘auction’ on this mobile application (app) without their approval. The accused Omkareshwar Thakur (26) has done BCA from IPS Academy in Indore and is a resident of New York City township, the police officer said. Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) KPS Malhotra said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused has admitted that he is a member of a group on Twitter that is used to defame Muslim women and share ideas to ‘troll’ .
“He developed the code on GitHub. All members of the group had access to GitHub. He had shared the app on his Twitter account. The photographs of Muslim women were uploaded by the members of the group.” Investigation has revealed that the accused had joined the group on Twitter in the name of ‘TradeMahasabha’ in January 2020 using the handle ‘At the Rate Gangesian’. Police said that during various discussions on the group, the members discussed trolling Muslim women.
The DCP said, “He (accused) admitted that he created the code/app on GitHub. After the uproar over the Sully Deals app, it had removed all content related to it from social media. Delhi Police said that technical equipment is being checked to find out the code/pictures associated with the app. The Cyber Cell of Delhi Police had received a complaint about uploading of pictures of Muslim women on an app by unknown persons, following which it had registered a case in this regard.
