Srinagar, A major terrorist attack took place in Jewan of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The terrorists ambushed here have opened indiscriminate firing on the police bus. In which 2 soldiers have been martyred, while a total of 14 policemen have been injured. All have been admitted to the hospital. Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed the responsibility of this attack. At present, a search operation is being conducted in the entire area after this incident. The Jammu-Baramulla highway has been closed.
In this regard, today IGP, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said, “25 of our policemen were going from Srinagar to Jewan in a bus after the duty was over in the evening. Meanwhile, on the way at 6:30 pm, two-three terrorists took advantage of the darkness and fired indiscriminately on the vehicle. In which 14 of our policemen were injured.
He said, “Our men retaliated in which one terrorist has been shot but he has managed to escape. 2 jawans were martyred and 12 people are out of danger. Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Kashmir Tiger has claimed attack, we will kill this group soon.”

According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 14 policemen were injured and taken to the hospital. Among the injured personnel, ASI Ghulam Hassan and SgCT Safiq Ali succumbed to their injuries and were martyred, while the condition of the other injured personnel is stated to be stable.
Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law and officials are trying to understand the circumstances that lead to such terror attack. At present, the area has been cordoned off and search is on in the area. After this terrorist attack, many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and LG Manoj Sinha have condemned the incident and expressed their condolences.
PM arenarendramodi has sought details on the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He has also expressed condolences to the families of those security personnel who have been martyred in the attack.

Prime Minister asked for details
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought information about the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He has also expressed condolences to the families of the security personnel who were martyred in the attack.
The enemies of peace will not be spared
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has condemned the incident. He said, “The enemies of peace will not be spared at any cost. Strict action will be taken against such elements. The entire ecosystem of terrorists will be destroyed. He directed the concerned officials to provide all possible treatment to the injured. I pray for his speedy recovery. Our police and security forces are committed to neutralize the evil forces of terrorism.”

On the terrorist attack in Srinagar, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah said, “I pay homage to the martyrs. Till the Government of India does not win the heart and does not remove the distance from Delhi, this thing will continue. Both the countries (India and Pakistan) have to forget their arrogance and find a way out.”
