Amravati. The Tax Recovery Department of the Metropolitan Municipality is far behind its recovery target this year as well. At present, recovery notices have been issued to the top 20 arrears holders who remain outstanding in crores. But this year also it is impossible to fulfill the target of tax collection. The permanent employees of Municipal Corporation are not doing their work properly. Due to which, in the name of 100% recovery every year, only the work of shaving is done. This is the reason that the Municipal Commissioner Rode has now made up his mind to hand over the responsibility of tax collection to a private agency. But a final decision on that is yet to be taken.
