Mumbai: The Supreme Court has revoked the suspension of 12 BJP MLAs (12MLAs) who were suspended for one year from the Maharashtra Assembly. The decision of the top court has boosted the spirits of BJP. Party leaders are attacking the Aghadi government of the state, describing the court’s decision as a victory of democracy. On the other hand, Aghadi is stunned by the court’s decision. He is still in a confrontational mood. Shiv Sena leaders have also questioned the court’s decision. NCP spokesperson and Minority Welfare Minister Nawab Malik has said that the final decision will be taken by the Speaker of the Assembly.
12 BJP MLAs Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Parag Alwani, Harish Pimple, Yogesh Sagar for allegedly misbehaving with the then Presiding Officer Bhaskar Jadhav on July 5, 2021 during the monsoon session , Jai Kumar Rawat, Narayan Kuche, Ram Satpute and Bunty Bhangadiya were suspended for one year. The top court on Friday decided to set aside the resolution passed by the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

After the court’s decision, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Devendra Fadnavis said that it has become clear that the decision to suspend 12 MLAs was taken by the government as part of a conspiracy. After the court verdict, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Praveen Darekar, suspended MLAs and former ministers Ashish Shelar, Atul Bhatkhalkar and others welcomed the decision and said that it is a victory of democracy. BJP leaders say truth can be disturbing but cannot be defeated.

Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut has said in his reaction that the decision of suspension was taken by the Speaker keeping in view the situation at that time. This was a decision taken to save democracy. This action has been taken after the assault in his chamber. I think it is his right. Decisions are taken according to law and constitution.
The decision to suspend the MLAs has come today. After getting its copy to the Legislature Secretary, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will take the final decision on it.
