A South Boston man was arrested and charged with capturing a 32-year-old girl to demise in Dorchester final February, police mentioned.
Stepheon Wells, 20, was arrested Friday morning by members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit on a homicide warrant out of Dorchester District Court.
Wells is accused of killing Diva Ayuso, of Sharon, on the night of Saturday, Feb. 18.
He was arraigned on homicide and firearms-related prices Friday in Dorchester District Court, and was ordered held with out bail, the Suffolk District Attorney’s workplace mentioned.
Boston Police mentioned Ayuso was shot a number of occasions within the space of 15 Fermoy Heights in Dorchester, and was pronounced useless on the scene. Officers had responded to a “ShotSpotter activation” at roughly 8:46 p.m., the division mentioned.
“As the officers were looking for ballistic evidence, the officers were notified by a witness that a person was down in the Franklin Hill Green park,” the police report states. “The officers rushed to the victim and rendered aid.”
Ayuso was declared “non-viable” at 9:54 p.m. An post-mortem decided her demise was attributable to “multiple gunshot wounds,” and her method of demise was murder, the report states.
A search warrant was executed on March 28, and Wells was arrested on a straight warrant on Friday, at 8:04 a.m., the report states.
Wells will return to courtroom on July 31 for a possible trigger listening to, the DA’s workplace mentioned.
