Mumbai: BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and Mayor Kishori Pednekar gave information about imposing lockdown as soon as the figure of 20 thousand corona patients is crossed daily in Mumbai. But for the last two days, the number of patients in Mumbai is getting above 20 thousand. However, now the BMC commissioner said that the figures of Corona rising in Mumbai have no significance. Both bed and death are under control in Mumbai. There is no need to impose complete lockdown as long as it is under control.
Mayor Kishori Pednekar also said in a conversation with the media that there is no need to impose a complete lockdown, but if Mumbaikars continue to ignore Corona in the same way, then strict restrictions will have to be imposed.
Lockdown is not done on data
The BMC commissioner said that the figure is not important, but what is the status of the death rate in Mumbai apart from hospitals, oxygen and beds. If the oxygen requirement increases when the number of patients is less, then lockdown can be considered. It doesn’t matter if the patient is growing. Chahal said that the lockdown is not done on the figures. The commissioner said that from December 21, patients started increasing in Mumbai. Only 19 have died in 16 days. About one patient is dying a day. The number of active patients has gone above 1 lakh, but the death toll is 1. So there is no need for restriction by looking at the figures. Chahal said that 85 percent of Omicron patients are being found. Omicron has reduced Delta patients.
