Bhandara, The festival of courage, valor, loyalty and love of the nation is celebrated every year on 9 April as CRPF Shaurya Diwas all over India. On this occasion, 206 CoBRA Battalion celebrated Shaurya Diwas with great pomp at its headquarters at Chitapur Dhargaon in Bhandara tehsil.
Firstly the Commandant of the Battalion, Luv Kumar, (PMG) and the Second Commanding Officer Shri Sohan Singh along with the officers laid wreath at the martyr site. Thereafter, Commandant Luv Kuma (PMG) was saluted by the guard at the Quarter Guard.
On this occasion, Commandant Luv Kumar (PMG) conveyed about the importance of Shaurya Diwas along with congratulating all the soldiers and officers on the bravery day of the Central Reserve Police Force dedicated to the service of the nation with valor and valor.
He said in his address that on this day on 9 April 1965, a small contingent of 2nd Battalion CRPF thwarted an attack by Pakistani Brigade on Sardar Post in Run of Kutch, Gujarat. In this attack 34 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 4 were arrested alive.
Never in the history of military combat has a small contingent fought like a full infantry brigade. In this struggle, 6 brave Ranbankurs of CRPF gave their martyrdom. As a tribute to the saga of the brave soldiers of the force, every year 9 April is celebrated as Shaurya Diwas.
Keeping the spirit of indomitable courage, valor and patriotism in this way always, we have to carry out our duty and make our full contribution in the peace system and development of the country.

All of you have been awarded the Gallantry Medal for your indomitable courage and valor. After this, Commandant Luv Kumar (PMG) was honored by Second Commanding Officer Sohan Singh by presenting him with bouquet, shawl and memento.
After this, Commandant Luv Kumar honored Sub-Inspector Chaman Giri, Havildar Vikas Sadotra with bouquets, shawls and mementos. Thereafter an inter-company volleyball match was organized. After this, entertaining games for children were organized such as Sack Race, Lemon-Spoon Race, Jalebi Race, Atta Race etc. In which all the children entertained a lot and enjoyed all the games. After this, Matka burst and musical chair games were organized for men and women in which everyone participated enthusiastically and had a lot of fun.
On this occasion Senior Medical Officer Spandana Katakam, Co-Convener Assistant Commandant Ravi Mishra, Media Manager Assistant Commandant Vinayak Kamble Kashinath, Assistant Commandant Ashutosh Pandey, Executive Gan Inspector Amichand, Sub Inspector Virendra Dubey etc. were present.
After this, a big dinner was organized in the evening among all the soldiers and officers. Deputy Commandant Vishal Vig, who is conducting the program, while congratulating all the soldiers, personnel and officers as well as their families, thanking all of them, thanking everyone that due to the cooperation and hard work of all of you, today’s valor and bravery is achieved.
