New Delhi: In Kerala, the police have arrested seven people related to a sex racket. According to a report, the arrested people allegedly used to exchange partners for sex. The arrests were made on Sunday evening. The police now suspect the involvement of more than a thousand couples in this case.
According to reports, a complaint was given to the police by a married woman in which she had made serious allegations of ‘wife-swapping’ on her husband. After this, when the police started investigating the complaint, it was found that the matter could be related to a big sex racket. However, the arrests in this case took place after the woman lodged a complaint against her husband with the Karukhachal police. In the complaint, the woman alleged that her husband was forcing her to have sex with other men. According to the report, earlier similar incidents were reported from Kayamkulam area as well.

Reports quoted the police as saying that the alleged group associated with this sex racket used social networking sites to operate across the state. First, they joined Telegram and Messenger groups. In this way they went on connecting with each other and started making acquaintance. The husband of the woman who complained in the case has been arrested by the police. Now the police suspects that there is a big group behind this and the police are trying to find more people in connection with the case.
According to a report in The Quint, the complainant woman narrated her ordeal and told that, her husband was earlier employed abroad, after returning a few years back, they allegedly forced her to have sex with others. It has been said in the report that some people related to the case are married and many are also unmarried. The woman has also shared the names and phone numbers of some people with the police.
The accused are residents of Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts of Kerala. Police confirmed that people from across the state and elites are part of the racket. Now 25 people are under police surveillance and more arrests are likely in the coming days. The racket is suspected to have more than 1,000 members of social media groups.
