Selena Gomez is sharing among the most private particulars about her psychological well being.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star and “Calm Down” singer reveals what helped her rein in her considerations following her bipolar analysis, in a clip from the Apple TV+ documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.” It comes out Nov. 4.
“When I first got out, I didn’t know how I’d cope with my diagnosis. What if it happened again? What if the next time, I didn’t come back? I needed to keep learning about it,” Gomez, 30, says within the clip, lately launched by way of Vanity Fair’s TikTok account. “I needed to take it day by day.”
Gomez goes on to say that she was “terrified of thunderstorms” when she was youthful, as residing in Texas led her to worry they might give option to tornadoes.
“But my mom gave me these books for kids that … basically said, ‘The more you learn about it, the less you’re going to be afraid of it,’” she recalled. “And it really helped.”
The R-rated documentary — helmed by Alek Keshishian, who directed Gomez’s 2015 “Hands to Myself” music video — provides “an unflinching look at her mental health journey,” based on Vanity Fair.
This isn’t the primary time Gomez has mentioned confronting issues head-on, noting in early 2020 that that technique “took the fear away.”
“I realized that I was bipolar and so, when I go to know more information, it actually helps me,” she informed Miley Cyrus’ “Bright Minded: Live” on the time. “It doesn’t scare me once I know it.”
