Pune: Crime Branch of Pune Police in the case of demanding ransom of 50 lakhs from the complainant woman for withdrawing the complaint made against the then police inspector of Deccan police station on letterhead. ) has arrested RTI activist Sudhir Ramchandra Alhat. Along with him, a case of ransom has been registered against Subhash alias Anna Jeur, Nilesh Jagtap, Vivek Konde at Shivaji Nagar police station.
According to the information received from the police, a 48-year-old woman from Kothrud area has lodged a complaint with Shivaji Nagar police station in this regard. The woman had approached Sudhir Alhat regarding a complaint lodged against the complainant woman’s husband at the Deccan police station in a wrong way in 2019 and 2020. At that time, Alhat harassed you after registering a complaint against Sonawane, the then sub-inspector of the Deccan police station, so I will withdraw the money in 8 days, he said. In the police department, he is well known for holding a high position as well as with very senior police officers. By saying that I have got 32 officers suspended so far, he gained the confidence of the woman.
