RRB-NTPC Result Row: The All India Students Union (AISA) and other youth organizations on Friday protested against the alleged irregularities in the results of the Railway Recruitment Board’s (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Category (RRB-NTPC) examination. ‘Bihar Bandh’ has been called on 28 January. AISA termed the Railway Ministry’s move to form a committee to look into the concerns of the students as a “hoax”.
AISA general secretary and MLA Sandeep Sourav, among others, said in a press statement that the committee constituted by the Ministry of Railways is a “conspiracy” to postpone the matter till the elections in Uttar Pradesh.

In fact, violence has erupted in many parts of Bihar since the declaration of the result. The protest of the candidates who were angry with the result took a violent form in Gaya, Bihar on Wednesday. Angry candidates seeking jobs in Railways created a ruckus at Gaya Junction on Wednesday and set several trains on fire.
– The protesters ransacked the trains and also pelted stones. Apart from this, youth stopped trains at many places in Bihar. During this, the police also used force. The protest, which has been going on for the last three days over the alleged malpractices in the results of RRB-NTPC examination by candidates, turned into violence on Wednesday.
According to the report, during the demonstration, angry candidates set fire to the engine of two goods trains and a passenger train. Apart from this, the candidates shattered the window panes of 20 coaches of the train. The police had to use tear gas shells to control the mob of students who were creating a ruckus in the thousands.
The Railways has decided to postpone the NTPC and Level-1 examinations after violent protests by candidates regarding the selection process for its recruitment examinations. A railway spokesperson said on Wednesday that the railways has also constituted a committee, which will inquire into the complaints of successful and unsuccessful candidates in the examinations conducted by various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
According to the Railway spokesperson, after hearing the complaints and concerns of both the parties, the committee will submit a report to the Ministry of Railways. Earlier on Tuesday, the Railways had issued a notice warning the candidates that the recruitment of people involved in other illegal activities, including sabotage during the demonstration, would be banned forever.
– This warning came in view of the protesting candidates sitting on dharna on railway tracks at many places in Bihar on Monday. Students allege that there has been rigging and negligence in these recruitments and efforts are being made to recruit ineligible people.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Wednesday appealed to job aspirants not to damage public property by railways. He said, “I would like to request my student friends that Railways is your property, you should take care of your property. We will look into all your complaints and points that have emerged so far. Any student will take the law in hand. Don’t take it.”
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday supported the youth opposing the process of examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), saying that every youth is free to raise their voice for the rights.
In states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the number of students preparing for Indian Railway jobs is in lakhs. Several months ago, thousands of vacancies were released for different posts under RRB-NTPC in Railways.
The results of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) Recruitment CBT-1 exam were released by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on January 14 and 15, 2022. On the basis of this result, candidates are to be shortlisted for CBT-2 i.e. Phase II examination.
