Mumbai: Mumbai Narcotics Cell (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who made headlines after the alleged arrest of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan at the Mumbai Drugs Cruise Party. The term ends on December 31. Reliable sources say that Sameer Wankhede is in no mood to take an extension in NCB.
Ever since the action in the Bollywood drugs case, questions are being raised on Sameer Wankhede. Even Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government and NCP leader, has openly made serious allegations against him many times by holding a press conference. It is believed that due to this controversies, Sameer does not want to take the extension.

Significantly, the term of Sameer Wankhede was ending in September, but he was given an extension of four months till December. NCB team led by Sameer Wankhede raided the cruise in October. During this 8 people including Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan were arrested. In this case, a total of 20 people were arrested on the basis of investigation and interrogation of the arrested accused. Some of these were big names and some drug peddlers and suppliers were also arrested. Aryan Khan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court. Later NCB withdrew 6 cases including drugs case from Sameer Wankhede. Nawab Malik had raised questions on this action of NCB. He continued to target Sameer Wankhede by holding press conferences. He also raised questions about the caste and religion of Sameer Wankhede. After this Sameer Wankhede filed a defamation case against Malik in the High Court.
