- The plight of the pregnant women in Dufferin
Amravati. The administration of District Women’s Government Hospital (Duffrin) in Mahilaraj, due to going to Chammara, the pregnant women are being forced to face inconvenience. Because the administration of the hospital has collapsed due to lack of doctors and staff. At present, the hospital is being run on the trust of the in-charge and trainees.
There is a shortage of human resources including doctors and nurses for health care and timely treatment of women coming here for maternity treatment. Which has had an impact on the health service of Dufferin Hospital. Surprise is being expressed at Dufferin’s condition even after being a woman guardian, MP, local MLA and collector.
Dean went on leave after handing over charge
After Dr. Sanjay Ware, Health Superintendent of District Women’s Hospital took over, the charge of Dean in-charge was handed over to Dr. Vidya Wadhodkar in his place. Wadhodkar also has the responsibility of the TB hospital. For the past several days, Dean in-charge Dr. Wadhodkar has also gone on leave by handing over his workload to a female doctor. Due to which difficulties are being created in the administration of the hospital.
health care affected
Dufferin Hospital has a superintendent post. Presently the officer-in-charge is working in that post. There are 4 posts of Class 1 Medical Officer, 3 of them are vacant. While there are 19 posts of Medical Officer in the second category. Out of which doctors appointed on contractual basis are working in most of the posts. One post of adjudicator has been filled and one of the two posts in administrative office is also vacant. A position which has been filled. In-charge has been appointed on that post also.
One post of Assistant Superintendent has been filled in class 3. There are 14 posts of nursing staff and 2 nurses to provide health care to young children. 60 posts of Staff Nurse have been filled. There are a total of 57 posts including another 38 nurses, wardens and sweepers. But even out of these 15 posts are vacant. As a result, the manpower working in the hospital is very less according to the number of patients. Which is having an impact on health services.
Trainees put to work
Some of the trainees who have trained doctors and nurses practice in the District Women’s Hospital. These futuristic doctors on training provide health services to women patients under the guidance of expert doctors. But most of the doctors of Dufferin Hospital are in charge. Due to which the trainees get guidance from superiors on time or not. Doubts are being expressed on this too.
work stress
Due to the lack of manpower and most of the officers in the hospital, the work stress has increased on the doctors, nurses and other staff present. This is causing a lot of trouble to the women patients. Women coming for obstetric treatment require immediate treatment. But due to paucity of manpower, doctors and nurses are not able to serve the patients on time. As a result, the anger of the patients is increasing, which is affecting the health service.
Tension increased due to lack of manpower
There is a shortage of manpower in the District Women’s Hospital. I also have the additional charge of the Dean of Dufferin Hospital. Work stress has increased due to shortage of doctors and nurses. Doctors have been recruited on contract basis. Correspondence is on to fill the vacant posts at the government level.
