The funeral of the late Prince Philip of Britain is to be performed on Saturday. Complete preparations have been done for this.

The funeral of the late Prince Philip of Britain will be performed on Saturday. The Duke of Edinburgh, the husband of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9 at the age of 99. According to Indian time, Prince Philip’s funeral program will start at 7.30 pm. Prince Philip will be cremated at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Instead of a state funeral, it will be a royal funeral. It covers most of the details keeping in mind the personal wishes of Prince Philip. However, the program has been limited due to coronavirus restrictions. People are not allowed to join it. In addition, no public procession will be held and the funeral will take place entirely in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The funeral will begin with a minute-long national silence.
Who will be included in the program?
Due to Corona rules, only 30 people have been allowed to attend the funeral. It will include all senior officials of the royal family, including Prince Elizabeth, grandson-grandchildren of Prince Philip, and their companions, and members of Prince Philip’s family. Members of the royal family will wear morning coats with medals. All people have to follow the corona rules and apply masks during the 50-minute program. Queen Elizabeth will be seated alone during the program.
This is the complete timetable of funeral
- Prince Philip’s coffin at 11 am will arrive in the inner hall of Windsor Castle, covered with a flag, a wreath, a navy cap and a sword.
- The program will begin at 2 pm and within 15 minutes Phillip’s special military ties such as the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Grenadier Guards, Royal Gurkha Rifles, Intelligence Corps and Highlanders’ legion will reach the quadrangle of the Castle.
- Members of the royal family not attending Prince Philip’s funeral between 2.20 and 2.27 in the afternoon will leave by car for St. George’s Chapel.
- At 2.27 pm, a specially covered Land Rover that Philip helped to design will enter the Castle.
- At 2.38 pm, the coffin will be lifted from the inner hall on the shoulders.
- The band playing the band in the Castle at 2.40 pm will stop playing it and a minute later the coffin will come to the main door of the hall.
- Philip’s four children, including Prince Charles, Andrew, Edward and Princess Anne, will also join Prince William and Harry in the procession. All these people will walk behind the coffin and after reaching the main door will move away from there.
- On reaching the chapel, bullets will be fired for one minute and curfew town bell will be played.
- At 2.53 in the afternoon, the coffin will reach St. Jort’s Chapel and the Guard of Honor will be given.
- At 3 in the afternoon, the coffin will be kept for national silence. A gun fired from the East Lawn will notify the start and end of the silence.
- The funeral will be performed through the Dean of Windsor. At the same time, Prince Philip’s coffin will be kept in the Royal Vault.
- The Archbishop of Canterbury will then pronounce the blessing, after which the national anthem will be sung. Then the queen and the rest will leave from here. (According to Siam Britain)
