Pregnant Budiya Kasdekar (26) of Pipalya village under Katkumbh Primary Health Center is registered as Hi Risk. On 28 December, her labor pains started. But, due to no health worker available in the village, the midwife of the village tried to give birth to the child. Realizing the difficulty in giving birth, the midwife immediately decided to take the woman to the hospital for treatment.
After that her family members including Asha Sevika were taken to Churani Rural Hospital by ambulance at around 11 pm. But on the way, the woman died in the ambulance. It is learned that no health worker was present with the pregnant woman at this time.
