- 15-16 companies had taken the land
- Only 5-6 work started
- no trace of 10
- investment was to be 200-250 crores
- Preparations were made for the third wave
- State government’s plan is being divided
Nagpur. During the second wave of Corona, there was an outcry over the lack of oxygen. On the one hand, where she was going to go, on the other hand the government and administration were breathing heavily. The state government then took steps to become ‘self-reliant’ in oxygen. Several packages were announced and people were offered to set up plants at almost no cost. Many entrepreneurs came forward to take advantage of the scheme, offered to set up factories at MIDC and other places, but till now the factories have not been ready.
Most of the places are still ‘blank’. Industry experts said that after the package of the state government, about 15-16 entrepreneurs came forward and took land for setting up plants in different parts of the division. The possibility of investment of about 200-250 crores got strengthened. Land has also been allotted to them, but only 4 or 5 people are setting up the plant. They have forgotten their duty by taking the rest of the land. The land of MIDC is in their possession but in the name of effort, the vehicle has not progressed any further.
Difficult to find oxygen in Omicron
Now that the threat of Omicron is spreading rapidly, such people are missing. Then the administration had claimed to become ‘self-reliant’ but as soon as the case of Corona cooled down, the administration forgot to take ‘followup’. The land was given to them but the construction work could not be started.
150 metric tons was needed
During the second wave of Corona, the demand for oxygen had increased to 150 metric tons while Nagpur produces 120 metric tons of oxygen. However, out of production, oxygen is sent to Jabalpur and Nanded. It is a good thing that some hospitals have set up plants and they have become self-sufficient. But private investors are said to be missing till now.
Construction begins in Butibori
It is said that a 60 metric ton capacity plant is being set up in Butibori and its construction work has started. Similarly, the plant capacity has increased in Chandrapur, Deoli and Kalmeshwar. But those taking place in Bhandara, Umred, Gondia, Wardha etc. are still missing. The work of 10 out of 15 people has not started yet. If Omicron grows, then nothing can be expected from such plants taking land whose foundation has not even been laid. Whereas the state government has promised to give them crores in the name of subsidy.
