Lucknow, Young opener Ishan Kishan, who failed to bat fluently in the previous series, credited captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul for his return to form in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. Gave it to Dravid (Rahul Dravid). The left-handed batsman could not convert a good start against West Indies into big scores but in the first match against Sri Lanka, he played an innings of 89 runs off 56 balls in India’s 62-run win.

“I didn’t do well against West Indies. He told me that he knew about my talent and what I could do for the team. He said, ‘We have faith in you. Never think that we are doubting your ability.” Ishan said, “He always helped us with the little things, be it your batting grip or aggressive mindset. ,
In the recent auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), Ishan was bought by Mumbai Indians for a whopping price of Rs 15.25 crore but he could only manage 71 runs in three matches against West Indies at a strike rate of 85.54. Captain Rohit, however, kept his faith in him and fielded him as an opener against Sri Lanka.
Ishan Kishan said, “After playing so much cricket, you become aware of the conditions. Tough times will also come but it is important to stay in a good mental state. There’s no need to get too excited when you score big scores. The wicket-keeper batsman revealed how Rohit overcome his weaknesses in rotating the strike in the nets and stealing runs quickly.
“He (Rohit) always says that when you are at the crease, you can’t hit every ball. It’s important to rotate the strike and take a couple of runs.” Ishaan said, “Definitely he helped me in these departments especially when we keep practicing in the nets.
