Indore: During the last 18 days in the investigation of the laboratory of a private medical institution amid the third wave of Corona epidemic in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh). 21 cases of “Ba.2” sub-lineage of the Omicron form of Corona Virus have been found. Patients infected with this sub-lineage include six children.
Vinod Bhandari, the founder president of the city’s ‘Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences’ (SAMS), told PTI on Monday, “Our Molecular Virology Diagnostic and Research Lab, recognized by the central government, has the omicron form of the corona virus. 21 cases of Ba.2 sub-lineage have been found. The receipt of these cases has started from January 6. He said that out of 21 cases of “BA.2” sub-lineage of Omicron form, the effect on lungs of six patients ranged from 1% to 50%.

Bhandari said that out of these 21 patients, three are hospitalized while 18 others have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. He also informed that 15 adults among these 21 patients had already taken both doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine. Bhandari said, “We appeal to all eligible people to take the precautionary dose of vaccine to prevent the epidemic at the earliest.”
Significantly, Indore is the most affected district in the state due to COVID-19. According to government data, since March 24, 2020, a total of 1,86,216 patients of the epidemic have been found in Indore district, out of which 1,409 have died during treatment. (agency)
