Mumbai: A new variant of the corona virus, Omicron, has exploded in Maharashtra on Wednesday. Today 85 new cases have been reported in the state in a single day, after which the total number of infected has gone up to 252. At the same time, 3900 coronas have been found infected throughout the day and 20 people have died.
According to a release issued by the Health Department, 47 patients have been reported by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) and 38 by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) among the new cases detected today. Of the 47 patients reported by the NIV, 43 are international travelers and 4 are in close contact. Of these, 34 are from Mumbai, 3-3 from Nagpur and Pimpri Chinchwad, 2-2 from Navi Mumbai and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and 1-1 from Panvel, Kolhapur and Buldhana.

As per preliminary information, 38 cases detected today have no international travel history. Of the 38 patients, 19 are from Mumbai, five from Kalyan Dombivli, three each from Navi Mumbai and Pimpri Chinchwad, two each from Vasai Virar and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and one each from Pune Rural, Bhiwandi Nizampur, Panvel and Thane Municipal Corporations. A case has come to the fore. With this, the total number of Omicron cases in the state has increased to 252. And today 99 out of 252 patients have been discharged after testing negative RT-PCR.

Corona found in the state 3900 new cases
Today 3900 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Maharashtra and 20 patients have died due to this dangerous virus. The case fatality rate in the state is 2.12%. On the other hand, the good thing is that today 1,306 people have become free from infection in the state, after which the total number of people who have recovered from the disease in the state has gone up to 65,06,137. The recovery rate of the state is 97.61 percent. Presently 1,22,906 people are in home quarantine and 905 people are in institutional quarantine.
