Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, four more people, including Health Minister TS Singhdev, have been confirmed infected with the new form of corona virus, Omicron. The number of infected with the Omicron form has increased to five in the state. State Health Department officials said here on Tuesday that Omicron has been confirmed in four people, including a woman, from the capital Raipur. So far five cases of Omicron have been confirmed in the state. However, all have recovered from the infection.
Officials said that after the infection was confirmed in the four patients, their samples were sent for genome sequencing 10 days ago. Omicron form has been confirmed in the report. He said that among those who have been confirmed to have an Omicron form, one woman and one man had recently returned from the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, two other patients have not gone out of the country.
Earlier on 5th of this month, a person from Bilaspur district was confirmed to have Omicron form. The person had recently traveled to the United Arab Emirates. Here State Health Minister TS Singhdeo has informed that he is one of the five patients in whom Omicron has been confirmed.
Singhdev said, ‘People should not be afraid of Omicron form. I am one of the five people in whom Omicron has been confirmed. I got my report from Bhubaneswar lab on Monday. There is nothing to fear in this, but people need to be careful as it spreads rapidly.
On the 2nd of this month, Singhdev had informed about himself being infected with the corona virus. Later, on January 8, he informed on Twitter that he had recovered from the infection and his report came negative.
