Pune: In order to reduce the pollution caused by vehicles, the Pune Municipal Corporation has started taking a decision to encourage electric vehicles. In the coming time, it will be made mandatory to arrange E-Charging Point for 20 percent of the vehicles capacity in the parking of the construction work project. If this arrangement is not made then Occupancy Certificate (OC) will not be given. This decision has been taken by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The order related to this will be taken in the coming week.
Pune city has 40 lakh vehicles. Pollution is happening due to petrol and diesel vehicles. Various measures are being taken to avoid this pollution. Emphasis is being laid on increasing the number of purchases of e-vehicles in the convoy of PMP with the Municipal Corporation. Similarly, the number of people buying e-vehicles from the citizens of the city has increased. At present there are 10,000 bikes and four wheelers in the city. Petrol and diesel prices are skyrocketing. Preference is being given to buy e-vehicle, but after purchasing the vehicle, one has to do jugaad for charging.
