Rajasthan BJP councillor Tabassum Mirza resigned from the social gathering after being enraged by now-suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s alleged derogatory remarks in opposition to Prophet Muhammad. In her resignation letter to social gathering’s state unit president Satish Poonia and district chief Krishan Kumar Sonia on Monday, Mirza wrote that she was sad as her social gathering was unable to rein in different members from making insulting remarks to her Prophet.
The BJP councillor from ward quantity 14 of Kota Municipal Corporation, South, gave away her major membership of the social gathering as she stated it was not doable to proceed underneath the given circumstances.
“If I continue to be member of BJP and support it despite there being so much (against the Prophet), there would be no other bigger offender than me. Now my consciousness has awakened and I can no longer continue to work in the party,” she wrote to the social gathering’s state chief.
When contacted, Mirza stated she despatched her resignation letter to Poonia and Soni by means of e mail and put up. While Mirza instructed The Indian Express that she had e-mailed her resignation to Poonia and Sonia, Soni denied getting any such letter.
“I have not received any resignation from a party councillor,” Soni instructed IE.
