Nagpur. Due to illegal construction work being done by the neighboring relative in Gittikhadan police station area, a wall collapsed and fell on the cement sheet roof, causing it to collapse and badly injuring the mother and daughter inside. On the other hand, even after 10 days of the incident, there is an allegation of delay in registering the FIR by the police. Abdul Rehman Abdul Salam (54), who lives near Idgah Hills in Jafarnagar, told that he is a corporator by profession. His brother Abdul Kamal lives in his neighbourhood.
Rahman’s house has a pucca roof in the front room itself. The rest of the rooms have kutcha ceilings made of cement sheets. Kamal has started construction work at the place he occupied. Rahman alleges that he already has a legal dispute with Jamia Arbia Trust regarding this part of the land. Despite this, this illegal construction is being done by Kamal.
17 stitches on woman’s leg
Rahman told that before the roof of my house was raw, Kamal had refused to start the work but he did not agree. Meanwhile, on February 25, at around 10.30 am, due to the carelessness of the workers, a wall fell on the raw roof of my house, breaking the entire roof. His daughter and wife were in this room. He got seriously injured. His wife received 17 stitches on her leg and suffered a head injury.
Threats to kill family
Rahman said that after the incident, when Rahman and his son Salman reprimanded Kalam and asked for the cost of the demolition, he started threatening. He said that whatever is made, do it. Since then he has been threatening to kill him and the entire family. Rehman said that he had gone to Gittikhadan police station on February 25 to register an FIR against Kalam. He made a written complaint but no one came to see the spot for 2 days. Even after almost 10 days, no FIR has been registered against Kalam. He said that due to illegal construction of Kalam, his entire house could be demolished. In such a situation, it is expected from the police that by taking appropriate legal action, a possible accident should be avoided.
