With this feature of Google, users will be able to know which website their data is being shared on which website and they will be able to easily turn off that access.
Google Chrome
Search engine giant Google is rolling out a new privacy feature for its Chrome browser. Through this feature, users will be able to find out in their Android smartphone which website has access to their information. Along with this, the option to remove the site from your browsing history will also be added in Google Chrome in the coming releases. This is part of the Google Chrome 92 update.
Google said in a statement late Tuesday that with updated site security controls, we’ve made it easier to track which sites are allowed what information. Simply tap on the lock icon to the left of the Chrome address bar to open the updated panel, which will show what permissions you’ve given to a particular site. From there, you’ll be able to more easily toggle between sharing and not sharing things like your location and your camera.
Address bar is also actionable
This update of Chrome browser will allow users to take action by typing in the address bar. For example, if users type ‘Safety Check’, it will check the security of passwords and do many things including scanning malicious extensions. Similarly, “manage security settings” or “manage sync” will also perform such actions and users will not need to go to the settings and perform these actions.
Google has added many more features regarding safety
To keep its users safe, Google last week rolled out yet another feature in its search that will allow people to quickly delete the last 15 minutes of browsing history on mobile. The feature is available in the Google app for iOS and is coming to the Android Google app later this year. This tool is not yet available for desktop users.
Google said it has also expanded ‘Site Isolation’, a security feature that protects users from malicious websites. ‘Site Isolation’ will now cover a broader range of sites as well as extensions, and it all comes with tweaks that improve Chrome’s speed. The company said that new updates and features will come to Chrome on Android and Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS in the coming weeks.
