Let us tell you that the Supreme Court has given its important decision in the NEET PG counseling case stuck in the issue of reservation in OBC (Other Backward Castes) and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) categories in NEET-PG. Supreme Court has given green signal to the reservation of OBC and EWS in NEET PG admission.
The Supreme Court in an interim order on Friday approved the commencement of counseling for admission to the NEET-PG course for the year 2021-22. Along with this, the validity of 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) students and 10 percent for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) has been retained.

A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna said that the counseling for NEET PG for the year 2021-22 will be based on the earlier criteria. The bench said a decision on the validity of the eight lakh income criterion for EWS in the coming years would be taken only after hearing the petitions.
The bench has fixed March 5 for hearing the petitions. Last day i.e. on Thursday, the Supreme Court had reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of all the parties in the NEET PG case for admission to the post graduate courses of medical and asked all the parties to file written arguments for discussion.

After this decision of the Supreme Court, the counseling of All India Quota will be started for the economically weaker section on the basis of the criteria of annual income of Rs 8 lakh. It is expected that the counseling schedule will be released soon.
