    A former pupil at a Nashville elementary faculty shot and killed three children and three adults on the personal Christian faculty on Monday, because the nation reels from one more “sick” and “heartbreaking” faculty capturing.

    The 28-year-old suspect, a transgender lady who was a former pupil at The Covenant School in Nashville, entered the Tennessee faculty by way of a aspect door as she carried two AR-style weapons and a handgun, police stated.

    The shooter, recognized as Audrey Hale who wrote a manifesto and had drawn an in depth map of the varsity, fatally shot three 9-year-olds and three workers members earlier than she was shot and killed by police.

    “I was literally moved to tears to see children being ushered out of the building,” the chief added.

    Kids have been seen crying as they boarded buses to depart the varsity.

    “It’s just sick,” President Biden stated from the White House about one more faculty capturing, later including, “It’s heartbreaking. A family’s worst nightmare.”

    The president praised the police who rapidly responded to the varsity “to end the danger.”

    “We have to do more to stop gun violence,” Biden stated. “It’s ripping our communities apart. It’s ripping at the soul of this nation, ripping at the very soul of this nation… I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It’s about time that we begin to make some more progress.”

    First Lady Jill Biden stated of the varsity capturing, “I am truly without words. And our children deserve better.”

    The shooter didn’t have a prison historical past, and police didn’t instantly know if she had a historical past of psychological sickness.

    The police chief was requested in regards to the motive, and whether or not the shooter figuring out as transgender led her to concentrating on the varsity.

    Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley tweeted, “Again & again & again, my heart is shattered. For the loved ones ripped away from their families in Nashville. For this unconscionable violence enabled by cowardice & a deficit of political will. It doesn’t have to be this way.”
