- 42 hectare plot reserved in Mogarpada
Mumbai: The dispute of carshed for Metro-4 under construction from Wadala to Kasarvadvali is almost resolved. For the 32.32 km long Metro-4, about 42 hectares of land was reserved for Metro Carshed in Mogarpada located on Thane Ghodbunder Road, but this land was in the possession of local farmers. MMRDA was not being allowed to conduct the survey to build the car shed.
Earlier, the local people were not ready to give more than 100 acres of land in Mogarpada, but now with the intervention of local MLA Pratap Sarnaik, the District Magistrate and MMRDA have accepted the compensation as per rules. According to local MLA Sarnaik, following the instructions of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the initiative of Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, the local farmers held a meeting with the concerned officials. The farmers present in the District Magistrate’s office raised objection that if Thane District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar guarantees to get the compensation, then only then the survey can be done for the tax shed of the metros.
