Pimpri: The draft ward structure prepared for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Elections has been announced and accordingly there are total 46 wards in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. A total of 139 corporators will be elected from these 46 wards. Most of the 19 wards out of 46 are in Chinchwad assembly constituency. There are 17 wards in Bhosari assembly constituency and 10 wards in Pimpri assembly constituency.
According to the three-member ward, maximum 58 corporators will be elected from Chinchwad assembly constituency, 51 from Bhosari assembly constituency and 30 from Pimpri assembly constituency. Therefore, from which assembly constituency, the maximum number of corporators of which party will be elected and who will dominate the municipal corporation, the curiosity has reached the surface.

Term will end on March 13
The last general election for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was held in February 2017. The five-year term of the incumbent corporators will end on March 13, 2022, after being elected mayor. Therefore, the State Election Commission has started preparing for the elections for the next five years. Under this, the draft of the ward structure for the municipal elections has been announced two days ago. According to this structure, there will be a total of 46 electoral wards in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Voters are to elect three corporators from a ward. According to the three-member ward system, 45 out of 46 wards will have three corporators, while the last Sangvi ward will have four corporators. In this way a total of 139 corporators will be elected in the Municipal Corporation.
17 Ward in Bhosari Assembly Constituency
There are three constituencies in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pimpri, Chinchwad and Bhosari. In view of the geographical structure of 46 wards prepared for the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections in the three assembly constituencies, the highest number of 19 wards are in Chinchwad assembly constituency. After this 17 wards are in Bhosari assembly constituency. Also there are 10 wards in Pimpri assembly constituency. Each ward of Chinchwad and Bhosari assembly constituencies is divided into Pimpri assembly constituency. The maximum number of corporators in Chinchwad assembly constituency is 58. After this, 51 corporators will be elected in Bhosari assembly constituency and 30 in Pimpri assembly constituency.
The political equation of the assembly elections will be made
Considering the number of corporators on the basis of the assembly constituency, there will be political upheaval in the politics of the city in future. On the basis of this, the political equation for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections will be formed. As a result, in the municipal elections, all eyes will be on that the leader of which political party will elect how many corporators from which assembly constituency. Various arguments are being made about this in the political corridors of the city. People have different guesses as who will be the “kingmaker” in city politics for the next five years will depend on how many corporators the leader has elected. Therefore, there has been curiosity among the citizens about the municipal elections and the expected results.
