Nagpur. The first month of the new year has not been good for the city. In this month, the COVID infection took the lives of 15 people. Yet people are seen in markets, shopping malls as well as in many social festivals without masks, sanitizers and social distancing. According to doctors, the new update of the corona virus, Omicron, may not look dangerous, but it is having a different effect on every person. Therefore, to take it lightly would be called risking life.
According to the data, the total number of positive people has been recorded at 2,160 on Monday. Of these, 701 are rural, 1,349 urban and 110 are from outside the city. Today, on the last day of January, 7,561 people were screened. The number of people who have been cured is 3,414. There has also been a slight improvement in the recovery rate.
Now the recovery rate has reached 94.11 percent. Even after this, according to the doctors, they are asking people to strictly follow social distancing along with applying masks. Although some people seem to be following these rules, there are a large number of people who do not consider Omicron to be a health hazard. According to doctors, only people with such thinking are responsible for the infection.
Crowd gathered in market, mall
No matter how many claims the government may make to follow the Corona guidelines, no one can stop people from flouting the rules. In the last two months, since the corona infection started spreading, till today, no one has been able to stop the crowd gathering in the market and mall. Thousands of passengers are coming in the bus, train going from the city and coming to the city without following the mask and social distancing. Due to this, the risk of infection increased, but the responsible local administration kept on following the rules on paper.
