Palghar (Maharashtra)Police have arrested two laborers from Arnala in Palghar district for killing their friend over money transactions. An official said on Friday that the accused were arrested on Thursday. Senior Inspector Raju Mane of Arnala Sagari police station said, “On December 10, the mutilated body of an unidentified man, aged around 40, was found near a well in Arnala. The body was sent for post-mortem and on the basis of intelligence, the police came to know that the deceased was last seen with a man at Dongrapara in Virar after which he was taken into custody.
He said that the deceased was later identified as Harish Nathu Padal, who worked as a farm laborer and was also involved in the business of fisheries. After the suspect was taken into custody, it was learned that the accused, the victim and another person were also involved in the business of fisheries to earn extra income, the official said. They used to quarrel every day over the distribution of money. He was also addicted to drinking alcohol.

Mane said, “On the day of the incident, there was an argument between the victim and two other accused over the exchange of money. Enraged, both the accused hit the victim on the head with a hard object. Due to this, he died on the spot. Later they dumped the body at a secluded place near the well.” Police said that both have been arrested and a case has been registered against them under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and other sections.
