If the selection is between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, we’re actually in massive bother.
One regularly doesn’t know what nation’s he’s in, and the opposite thinks the nation he’s in was stolen from hm.
Only the opposite day Joe Biden, in his rising befuddlement, thought he was in Columbia when he was in Cambodia whereas Donald Trump acted as if was nonetheless within the White House combating a “stolen” election.
One insults our intelligence with fabrications and the opposite simply insults us—and everyone else.
And they each wish to be president once more regardless that no person needs them round.
Either method we’re misplaced. The solar has set on each, though they gained’t admit it. They each ought to go away, however they gained’t.
And if that’s all there may be in 2024, we will solely hope the solar has not set on the nation as properly. Trump can be 77 years outdated in 2024 and Biden can be pushing 82.
Or because the late jazz singer Peggy Lee put it:
“If that’s all there may be, my buddy,
Then lets’ hold dancing,
Let’s get away the booze and have a ball,
If that’s all there may be.”
Hopefully, it’s not all there may be. But first Democrats and Republicans must push each Biden and Trump apart, which is simpler stated than performed.
Biden has been reenergized by the lower than stellar efficiency by the Republicans in final week’s election and he’s not going wherever. He has rightly interpreted Democrat management of the Senate as a victory, slim as it’s, regardless that the Republicans seem to have gained the House.
To the dismay of many Democrats who hoped to succeed him, Biden stated he’ll run once more. And if he does there is no such thing as a Democrat round prepared to problem him within the Democrat primaries or on the conference. Ditto with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Unless he dumps her, she can be his working mate.
For Trump, the election was a catastrophe. Biden and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama made the election about Trump regardless that Trump was not on the poll. That is what the alleged risk to democracy was all about. It was code for Trump, and it labored.
Trump was outnumbered three to at least one when it got here to presidents. And whereas Republican former President George W. Bush continues to be lively, there is no such thing as a method he would share the marketing campaign stage with Trump.
As far as all of them are involved, together with Democrat Jimmy Carter, Trump is persona non grata and never a welcome member of the President’s Club
Except for J.D. Vance in Ohio, who defeated Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan, candidates for the U.S. Senate that Trump endorsed all misplaced.
The Trump-endorsed losers, amongst others, have been Don Bolduc in New Hampshire who misplaced to Sen. Maggie Hassan; Blake Masters in Arizona who misplaced to Sen. Mark Kelly; and John Fetterman who defeated Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania.
But it’s not simply that Trump misplaced, it was the way in which he misplaced, charging election fraud in Arizona, blaming everyone else, and lashing out at former mates Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal. But like Biden, Trump can be arduous to push apart,
Trump is a misanthrope who thrives on hate and resentment. It is what drives him and accounts for his turning on so many individuals who have been as soon as his mates, colleagues and even supporters. He cultivates enemies. He wants enemies to outlive. It is his gasoline.
Hence his assault on Gov. Ron DeSantis following the Florida governor’s overwhelming re-election victory over Democrat Charlie Crist.
Trump endorsed DeSantis when DeSantis first ran for governor 4 years earlier, calling him “a brilliant young leader.” A traditional politician would have congratulated him on his re-election.
Not Trump. Now that DeSantis is a potential presidential candidate—and a risk—Trump turned on him, as he has on others, calling him Ron DeSanctimonious. Welcome to the Trump hate checklist.
Biden and Trump. Is that every one there may be?
