Mumbai: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday condoled the death of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, saying Lata ji’s death is an irreparable loss to the entire nation and she will always “live in our memories” with her songs. Birla said in his tweet, “The songs sung by Lata Di used to connect people. There were many occasions when he boosted the morale of our soldiers too. Inspired by him, lakhs of youth joined music. She said that she may no longer be with us but she will always “live in our memories” with her songs. Birla said, “Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji gave music to new heights with her rich vocals. Breaking the barrier of language, the songs sung by him reached every part of the world.
