Amravati. For the last one year, the discussion of closure of more than 130 schools with minimum number of students was in full swing. Finally, the new information service issued by the state government to the Zilla Parishad has averted the crisis of locking the schools with minimum student strength and these schools have got life once again.
Orders of the Director General of Education
In the letter received by the Director General of Education to the ZIP, it has been said that at present we will not close any school. Under the Sarva Shiksha Yojna run by the Central Government, arrangements are made to reach the school according to the convenience of the students, in case of non-availability of school to the extent of 1 or 3 km from any settlement. Or give transport allowance to the students, even after starting the centrally run scheme for many years, till now the students have not been able to get the traffic allowance to go to school.
Vandana Krishna, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, has clarified in a letter sent to the JIP that more than 130 schools in the district were involved in the 3037 schools that were said to be closed. But at present this decision has been stopped by the state government.
Efforts are on to increase the number of students
There are about 37 settlements in the district which do not have schools around them. Now grants will be made available to the students living in these settlements for movement. For this, the survey of students has also been started by the Zilla Parishad. Movement allowance will be given to the students according to the minimum cost of the students. The main objective of running this scheme is that the schools in which the number of students are decreasing. The conditions there can be controlled.
