Drone attack on Saudi Arabia
The news came a day earlier that there was a drone attack on an oil plant in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh (Saudi Arabia Drone Attack). There was no loss of life or property in this attack. Saudi government news committee ‘Saudi Press Agency’ said that there was no loss of life or property and the oil supply was not disrupted in this attack on Friday. Officials have not revealed the name of the plant, but the country’s legendary oil company ‘Saudi Arabian Oil Company’ (Saudi Aramco) operates a refinery in the southeast of Riyadh.
Huti rebels issue statement
Saudi Arabia has not blamed the Houthi rebels for the attack, but hours earlier, Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yehia Sary said that the Houthi rebels fired six drones at a plant in Aramco in Riyadh.
Saudi-led coalition forces are fighting against Iran-backed Houthi rebels on the southern border in Yemen, and this has led to increased airstrikes on the country. Recently, there was a drone attack in the country’s largest crude oil refinery with a capacity of 5,50,000 barrels per day, after which concerns have been raised about the increasing capabilities of Saudi Arabia’s regional enemies.
