Announcing this, thousands of labor union women workers stormed the Thane District Magistrate’s office. Tribal women have demanded on the occasion of Women’s Day that women should be given equal rights by adding their mother’s name with their father’s name.
Along with this, on Tuesday, once again a front was taken out at the District Magistrate’s office on behalf of the working group for their various demands. The procession started from Chintamani Chowk in Thane and ended at Tembhi Naka Bazar Peth via Court Naka in Thane District Magistrate Office. A large number of women participated in the march on Women’s Day. President of Shramjeevi Sangathan, Sneha Dubey Pandit conducted the march. The tribals had come to the city to demand the right to basic necessities, ration and drinking water for the tribals and the homeless.

The Shramjeevi Sangathan once again staged a dharna at the Thane District Magistrate’s office demanding the state government to accept the rights of the tribals and their various demands. It is noteworthy that on the occasion of Women’s Day on March 8, a large number of women participated in the march due to the spark of the organization of the working class. Even after 74 years of independence, most of the women in the country are still deprived of the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution.

At this time we are depriving every mother of the right to equality by putting the father’s name in front of the person’s name as the main demand on the occasion of Women’s Day. The women demanded that the mother’s name along with the father’s name be made mandatory next to the person’s name and that all government documents and all types of documents should have four columns instead of three columns in place of name in the identity card. Mahila Shramjeevi Sangathan Sangh also demanded that the right to toilet should be included in the right to live with dignity as women are being inconvenienced due to lack of toilets and urinals in the market and village nooks.
Privilege campaign needed
In the year of Amrit Mahotsav of the country, the needy and poor have not yet got the fundamental rights given by the constitution of the state. Most of the people do not have the right to the forest, the poor do not have employment, hence the rate of migration has increased. The paucity of space under the house has created problems for the tribals and the poor. There is a circular from the government regarding naming of houses and by-buildings for all by 2022. It was necessary for the administration to run a campaign to name government lands, private lands, Gurcharan and lands under rights, as well as to give privileges from Adim, Shabari, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Administration run time bound program
Agriculture supplementary minority and farmers have no business, caste certificates are not yet available, most of the poor are deprived of ration due to lack of sufficient food grains on ration. Right to education is not achieved Primary health centers and rural hospitals do not have adequate health facilities. Tribal villages do not have adequate civic amenities like water, electricity, private and public toilets, roads. On behalf of the labor union, through the District Magistrate, the administration has been requested to get the fundamental rights at least in this nectar year and for this the administration should run a time bound program.
