The Lok Sabha on Monday approved the budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the fiscal year 2022-23 and the supplementary demands for grants for the financial year 2021-22. During this, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, 890 central laws have been implemented there so far. Let us inform that on August 5, 2019, Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir.
Responding to the discussion on this in the Lok Sabha, Nirmala Sitharaman said that during the discussion on the budget of Jammu and Kashmir, the most mention came about the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 and asked why this happened, what did it get from it? He said that the rights which were denied to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for seven decades, have been provided to the people after the abrogation of Article 370.
So far 890 central laws have been implemented
Sitharaman said that now 890 central laws have been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and people have got their rights. The Finance Minister said that there cannot be two symbols, two legislations and two heads in this country. He said that Babasaheb Ambedkar gave the Constitution to this country and it is respected in the whole country, then why not in Jammu and Kashmir?
Justifying the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370, he said that it had to be completely removed. It was necessary. It was mentioned time and again in the manifesto of BJP. He said that by doing this we have in a way fulfilled Ambedkar’s dream.

Sitharaman said that a number of financial reform measures have been taken in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the CEIE, which monitors the economy, there has been a significant reduction in the unemployment rate, he said. He said that in the last one and a half years, 11 thousand appointments have been made in various government departments in a fair and transparent manner.
An investment of Rs 44,177 crore came
He said that arrangements were made to provide employment and jobs especially to the poor and deprived sections of the society. Apart from this, entrepreneurship help was also given for self-employment of youth. Sitharaman said the investment friendly Jammu and Kashmir campaign has yielded huge profits and investment proposals worth Rs 44,177 crore have been received. This will provide employment to a large number of people. For this land acquisition work is also going on.
Referring to the pace of implementation of projects in Jammu and Kashmir, the Finance Minister said that in the year 2018-19, more than 9200 projects were completed. 12,637 projects have been completed in the year 2019-20, 21,900 projects in the year 2020-21 and 40 thousand projects in 2021-22 so far.
Earlier, Nirmala Sitharaman presented a budget of Rs 1.42 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2022-23 for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Sitharaman also tabled the supplementary demand for grants for the financial year 2021-22 for Jammu and Kashmir, amounting to Rs 18,860.32 crore, in the lower house.
