Balasore: India on Thursday successfully test-fired indigenous surface-to-surface ballistic missile ‘Pralay’ off the Odisha coast for the second consecutive day. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) gave this information. DRDO said that for the first time for two consecutive days, a ballistic missile developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization was successfully flight-tested.
The missile, which was launched from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, fulfilled all the objectives of the mission. DRDO said, “Today, to prove the accuracy and firepower of the weapon, the heavy ‘payload’ and ‘Pralaya’ missile for various ranges was test-fired.” India on Wednesday successfully test-fired the ballistic missile ‘Prayal’.

The Defense Research Organization said the second test was monitored by all range sensors and equipment, including telemetry, radar and electro-optic tracking systems deployed on the east coast and down range ships near the impact point. Pralay, with a range of 150 to 500 km, is equipped with a solid propellant rocket motor and other new technology. The missile guidance system is fitted with state-of-the-art navigational and electronic equipment.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO on the second day of successful test-fire of indigenous surface-to-surface ballistic missile ‘Prayalaya’. At the same time, DRDO Chairman G. Satheesh Reddy also lauded his team and said that the country has proved its potential for development in defense research.(Agency)
